Oh how I love the Dollar Tree

I've been really wanted to decorate for Halloween...but trying to wait till October . It still being 110 degree outside.. it just doesn't seem right. So to pass the time along  I decided to make some decorations... I was totally in love with this
Halloween Wreath.

24 yards of ribbon can really cost you. I found a  wood ring , black plastic table cloth and a little Trick or Treat wall sign all for a DOLLAR each at the Dollar Tree. And Made this

I  feel like it needs more... but for $3.24. I couldn't be happier!

DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS

B is talking so crazy good... Sometimes more clear then C =) Her favorite things right now are Daddy and Ducks. I decided call up our BFF's M& G and head on over to  the little duck pond by our house. The girls really enjoyed feeding the ducks and looking for pine cones!

First "BIG GIRL" Pony

This last week we spent some time in Cali visiting my dad. (BTW he's doing Fantastic!) and Caleigh has been asking for a Big Girl Pony. I didn't understand what a Big Girl Pony was... until she saw  a little girl at the park with a Braid... So Auntie try to do the best she could do with my two little wiggle worms. And here are the results!
They look so super cute!

Our Mothers Day Gifts....

If your Mary, Carol, Carrie and/ or Cass... STOP READING RIGHT NOW!!!! Unless of course you want your gift spoiled.......=) We all know how I feel about surprises!

On one of my MANY blogs I followed The Decorated Cookie posted a  super cute idea for Mothers Day
The Decorated Cookie. I decided with all the Tea/ Coffee drinkers in our family .. this would be a PREFECT GIFT!  I searched around for companies that made Photo Mugs with the fastest turn around and pricing. Walmart won! I ordered the mugs around 10pm  on Monday and Wednesday they were ready to pick up. If you pick up at your local Walmart the shipping is free(Site to Store) ! I went with making a Greeting Card and having them wrap it around the mug. It made it Super Colorful and let me add a little personalized note.
We then got to baking! Of course the girls were super happy! They LOVE LOVE to bake! We made the  dough recipe that the Decorated Cookie posted followed her instructions.

Don't they look like little PacMans?
On to the Royal Icing ( also used Decorated Cookies recipe)
Caleigh wanted to make Blue, Green, Yellow, and Pink Cookies.. she helped pipe them on the cookies
Her favorite color right now is BLUE
Then we had to test them out to make sure the cookies tasted good...
I think Brooke's face says there a GO!

Then had to test them out on a Mug

and when the Mugs arrived had to test them out again...
and now the Final Project.......

Seriously , they are so super easy to make and taste SOOOO good! Happy Mothers Day to all the Mommies out there! You are so appreciated!

Music Note Baby Shower

The O Girls have done it again! These girls started planning the second they found out B was having a baby. Since Daddy is into music and Mommy is a fashion diva. What better way to welcome baby Jackson then a Black, Yellow and Music Note themed baby shower. Her cake was as yummy as it looked. They didn't leave one bit of detail untouched. Super great job girls! Can't wait to meet baby Jackson!

Bakin It Monday

Today we made Valentine theme fortune Cookies.. Boy are the super simple and so yummy!

Heres's the recipe we used!
Homemade Fortune Cookies
adapted from Cooking Light

1/2 C flour- If you have bread flour, use it.
1/2 C sugar
1 tsp vanilla- or sometimes I use 1/2 almond 1/2 vanilla
2 egg whites

Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend to combine. Place in a container and chill 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 400°.

Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper*. Draw 3-4 (3-inch) circles on paper. Turn paper over. Spoon 1 teaspoon batter into center of each of the drawn circles; spread evenly to fill circle. Bake at 400° for 5 minutes or until the cookies are brown just around the edges. Remove from the oven. Let sit for a few seconds before removing from pan. Working quickly, loosen edges of cookies with a spatula, and turn over. Place fortune along the center of 1 cookie. Fold cookie over so the edges meet ; press edges together. Gently pull the ends of the cookie down over the rim of a small bowl (or jar); hold for a few seconds or until set. Repeat procedure with remaining cookies. Makes about 24 cookies.
